Young love is unpredictable, young love is wild, young love is… mainly one thing: uncertain. Lasse and Käthe both try really hard to belong together. However, deep down they both have feelings that create distance between them. On the one hand, she is not able to talk about them and on the other, he can’t stop talking. In a moment of pure helplessness and intimacy, the two of them make each other feel vulnerable to the extent that every word could be the wrong one. Ultimately, they need to accept that they are far from what they both hope to find in love. Through that however, they learn what true love can really mean.
Director Biography — Adrian Schwartz
EN — Adrian Schwartz is a filmmaker with all of his heart. Since he was only 12 Adrian was amazed by cutting movies, telling stories and bringing his ideas to life. Early on he learned to identify with his stories and realized that he would find the best ones right where he didn’t have to look for them. Adrians biggest inspiration however has always been the fact that if worst comes to worst, the only thing needed to make a movie is a good idea and a camera. «Liebesstreifen» is his first professional short film, that was produced during his studies in film at the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences.
DE — Adrian Schwartz ist ein Vollblutfilmemacher durch und durch. Von früh bis spät oder spät bis früh: schon im Alter von 12 Jahren wurden rastlos Stoffe gewälzt, Schnitte gesetzt und Ideen verwirklicht.
Adrian hat früh gelernt sich mit seinem Stoff zu identifizieren und weiß, dass er die besten Geschichten immer dort finden kann, wo er sie nicht suchen muss. Von der Pieke auf gelernt zu haben, dass es zum Filmemachen notfalls nicht mehr bedarf als die Idee und die Kamera ist für ihn stets die größte Inspiration.
“Liebesstreifen” ist sein zweiter, professioneller Kurzfilm, der im Rahmen seines Filmstudiums an der Hochschule Offenburg entstanden ist.
Director Statement
Was passiert in den sensibelsten Momenten zwischen zwei Menschen? Wie läuft das ab mit dem «Fühlen, was du fühlst»?
Wir alle kennen das Gefühl von unerreichter, aber herbeigesehnter Liebe und Leidenschaft, doch nur wenige von uns sprechen darüber und noch weniger wird es öffentlich thematisiert.
In «Liebesstreifen» begegnen wir zwei jungen Menschen in einem Moment, indem sie ihre Liebesgründe kennenlernen wollen und dabei an die Grenzen der zwischenmenschlichen Kommunikation geraten.
Für mich ist es wichtig solchen Erfahrungen künstlerisch Ausdruck zu verleihen und den Menschen in meinem, oder jeglichem Alter einen Dialog über solche intimen Momente anzubieten, sowie angst- und schamfrei darauf hinzuweisen.
