Director Statement

Once, my dad had a dangerous operation. Instead of two hours, it lasted for six.

I wandered around the hospital park and prayed. Nothing depended on me, I could only rely on fate. At that moment, watching little sparrows, jumping in a puddle, a child playing in the sandbox, I realized, that these ordinary scenes evoke in me unusually strong feelings. They seem to be such a powerful manifestation of life. At that very moment only a possibility to watch it, to breathe in fresh air, to look at the treetops, moved by the wind, was sensed by me as a wander.

But why this perception is inaccessible to me in everyday life? Why this ability to enjoy simple manifestations of life disappears? Is it only death, what makes the sense of life so clear and understandable?

Trying to find answers to these questions, I wrote the script "Six hours" and then shot a film.
